Public presentation of the university node of Basilicata in the RUniPace Network
Online event – 10 December 2020 – from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The UNESCO Chair, the UniBas representation of the Maritain Chair and the UniBas Yunus Social Business Center constitute the first nucleus of the university node of Basilicata within RUniPace, the Network of Italian Universities for Peace, promoted by the CRUI-Conference of the Rectors of Italian Universities.
In the network, the Italian Universities are pooling expertise, research, teaching experience, and “third mission” activities aimed at the territories, in order to strengthen and make visible the Academy’s commitment to building peaceful societies.

The UNESCO Chair contributes to the work of the university node of Basilicata within RUniPace, with training and research projects that, through the theme of Landscape, Mediterranean and Community of Knowledge, investigate the relationship between the inner and outer world, orienting towards peace. The UNESCO Constitution states: “Wars are born in the minds of human beings and it is in the minds of human beings that the defences of peace must be built”. For the great challenges of our time, in order to build a present and a future of sustainable development, it is necessary to draw on the capacities for dialogue, cooperation, integration of knowledge, and peace is a prerequisite, the most necessary of values.

On 10 December – on the occasion of the International Day for Human Rights – RUniPace will be officially presented, with a general CRUI event presenting the network and activities for 2021, and with a programme of initiatives of the network nodes, organised by the individual universities.
On 10 December, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., the University of Basilicata will present the initiatives with which it contributes as a node of the RUniPace network.
The public event will be streamed on the University’s social channels: FACEBOOK e YOUTUBE
